CREEPY CHRISTMAS

Believe it or not, the grotesque image attached to this post is actualy a Christmas, NOT a Halloween decoration, and I don't know how it makes you guys feel, but I'm creeped out by it. It's a wild bore's head, to be exact, and yes, it's real. It was donated by a taxidermist to the college to celebrate the Madrigal Singers, who "Swear oaths on this Christmas creature's head."
Personaly, I think this particular item is more suited to Halloween then to Christmas.

Yes, I do agree with you Halloween is better than XMAS!

I've noticed some hunters do decorate their deers and ducks on XMAS!

The Boar's Head Carol
The boar's head in hand bring I, (Or: The boar's head in hand bear I,)
Bedeck'd with bays and rosemary.
I pray you, my masters, be merry (Or: And I pray you, my masters, merry be)
Quot estis in convivio (Translation: As many as are in the feast)
CHORUS
Caput apri defero (Translation: The boar's head I offer)
Reddens laudes Domino (Translation: Giving praises to the Lord)
The boar's head, as I understand,
Is the rarest dish in all this land,
Which thus bedeck'd with a gay garland
Let us servire cantico. (Translation: Let us serve with a song)
CHORUS
Our steward hath provided this
In honour of the King of Bliss;
Which, on this day to be served is
In Reginensi atrio. (Translation: In the Queen's hall)
CHORUS

I didn't know bore's head was such a delicacy. How much meat could there be on a head? Of course, it is part of a very beloved old Christmas Tradition.

You would never find that any place in my house at Christmas time, either, but I think it's creepy and gross enough for a Halloween decoration.

Every year I screen "The Nightmare Before Christmas" but I alternate. Every even number year I screen it during the Christmas season, and every odd numbered year I screen it during the Halloween season. This year I will be screening it next week.

I can't believe something so gruesome could actualy qualify as a Christmas decoration, though. There were little children shrinking back from that thing in fear when they brought it on the stage. A few years ago, they had this show in the cafeteria for the first half, and when they would bring out that bore's head, you could see all the little ones higing their faces in fear. It creeped me out, too. I certainly wouldn't want to see a creature like that alive.
