Anyone buy or adopt dog and puppy from puppy mill? Well, I've never been there before... but, my mom did adopt some dogs from the puppy mill a few years ago... they're maltese and shiz-tzu. For me, I did buy my own black lab in 2004 from dog shelter, or the dog pound whatever you call...

So some dogs are from the puppy mills = why do they afraid of people? Are they getting abused by someone else? I'd like to know.

Puppy Mills are terrible IHaunt...yes, they are usually abused, mal-nourished and usually only the strong survive unless someone comes along and adopts the weaker or runts of the litters. Those dogs are usually quite afraid of people at first and have lingering issues...health and psychological. Some don't get their shots or de-worming meds and are in deplorable conditions...

What Midnite, has informed you, is true!! Don't get your pets from puppy mills. They don't care about the well being of the animal. It's all about $$$$$$$. They breed the life out of them and they're kept in unsanitary conditions. They also interbreed, which is the reason of their lingering health issues. Puppy Mills= No.

I've never picked up any dog from the puppy mill. I only bought some dogs from the dog shelter, also got free from the dog owner.

I have black lab she is well-trained dog. She loves to hunt squirrels, rabbits, ducks and other wild animals.

When I was little my parents bought me a beagle from the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm.
He was pretty cool.

Did he do anything good? Was he scared, or not? Did he look like sad and unhappy?

I have volunteered in the local animal shelter. I would recommend at least looking there for anyone who wants a pet. There are some very sweet animals being euthanized because they have lost their homes. Especially during this economic downturn, many families have surrendered good pets because they can no longer afford them, or have had to move to premises that won't allow pets.

I got my two pups from animal shelters. They are very sweet.
I hate puppy mills with a passion.

He was pretty resilient. He'd sleep outside most nights, even though he had a nice doghouse.
They must have not fed them very well at the farm because he would be at the kitchen door
every evening at suppertime holding his food dish in his mouth.
My friend Lucy was afraid that he had "dog germs" because he was raised with so many other dogs.
