Re: Busy, Busy, Busy!!!! How is everyone else doing?
First off, my prayers go out to Nostalgiascape and his family. I am in awe of the strength and positivity your posts regarding your mother exude. I sincerely hope this Halloween season has, and will continue to make your mother, as well as the rest of your family, smile despite trying times.
Also, prayers are sent for those in the NE and beyond who have sustained property damage, or worse, injury due to this freak of a storm. I feel a bit guilty for going on and on about my Halloween plans with such events taking place just miles north and SE of me.
Well, here we are, in spite of the tumultuous times millions are experiencing, at the doorstep of Halloween. What are everyone's plans for Halloween Eve? Thankfully, we still have power, so my plans haven't been hindered like I had previously thought they'd be.
Personally, I think we'll keep in simple tonight. I know I have a couple of pumpkins that need to be carved. Other than that, there are several movies I haven't had the chance to view, so I'll have to decide between the Halloween/Halloween 2 combo, Hocus Pocus, Trick R Treat, etc. Always a tough choice. I've also recently become addicted to pumpkin bread, so I'm sure I'll be consuming some mindless carbs as well. Unfortunately, the weather is still prohibiting me from working on my outdoor decorations, so that will have to be a last minute operation tomorrow (if the wind settles).
For those of you still in the storm's grasp, I hope the Halloween spirit finds you despite Mother Nature's best attempts to dampen our Big Day!

I hear that Alaska and Canada are under a tsunami warning. Perhaps we shouls remember them in or prayers, too.

Re: Busy, Busy, Busy!!!! How is everyone else doing?
Looks like a good time was had by all!
I did the home haunt, leaving for maybe thirty minutes so I could stroll the street and observe what others were doing. Otherwise I made a pumpkin soup for supper, and we had something called "Trick or Treat Trifle" for dessert (chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, cool whip and crushed Heath bars). Since I had carved four pumpkins, we had lots & lots of roasted pumpkin seeds, too. Oh, and we had some leftover sloppy joes for those who couldn't bear to go vegetarian for supper.
TOT was fun but somewhat abbreviated (over by 8 p.m. sharp), both because it was a Weds., and because it was so cold. It was 43 degrees by 8 p.m., which is cold for around here in October.

I didn't get quite as many ToT ers this year, but I did go through 3 bags of Butterfingers and Snickers.

Thanks everyone, we had a great time, I wish I had taken more pics tho....
We had 8 Trick or Treater this year, last year we only ad 2 or 3.
I ordered pizza and had some left over beer, it was kinda nice, it was just me and my hubby all night, the kids went out with their boyfriends.

Re: Busy, Busy, Busy!!!! How is everyone else doing?
Jeez Witchy... we ordered pizza from Papa Johns, figured it being Halloween night and all it would take a while for it to be delivered. When I ordered I could hear their phones ringing spasticly so we were patient. About two hours later I realized they hadn't shown up yet so I called back. They said they called us because they must have had the wrong address, even though I verified it with the guy when I made the order. I called bull. Not only did they not call, when they finally got here they did not redo the order as we requested. The pizza was cold and they gave us the wrong wings. After more haggling with the manager she agreed to send us some free food certs but we still had to eat cold pizza on Halloween night.

It must have been a very busy night for them, but that's no excuse for delivering the pizzas cold.
