Popcorn balls totally rock! And if you make your own, you can make them in any color you want. Hard on the teeth, but so worth it =)

See, popcorn balls in my family olways equate Christmas..Santa Claus always put them
on the tree, along with the candy canes. Some of my fondest memories were me
sitting behind the tree (so I couldn't be seen....my own little world) reading my new
Nancy Drew or Trixie Belden book, and eating a popcorn ball...hahhaha

Whoo-hoo, high five over the Mallow Pumpkins! In my little corner of the world, I'm the only person who seems to like them.

Witchy, I love the stuff! Especially the tree man. Anthropamorphized trees are a favorite of mine. I'm always on the look out for them at Halloween. The skeletal fairy candle holder was wicked cool, too. I greatly admire people who can craft. I don't have a crafty bone in my body, LOL. Be sure to post a picture of the bride when you get her painted. I can't wait to see her.

I haven't spotted any Spirits yet but I know where there's a Halloween Express. I forgot to stop by this weekend even though I was in the area. I did check out the local HomeGoods store. They have a lot of fancy-smancy Halloween stuff.

The closest Spirit to my place is in Austin, sixty miles north-east from here. There's like four locations up there, but nothing in San Antonio, and San Antonio's much, much bigger than Austin.
Not even a Halloween Express around these parts >:(

Well Austin is more liberal than San Antonio. Not sure if that is a factor at all.

We have 2 Spirit stores by us, one is open already & the other one will open Thursday, but our Home Goods doesn't have much out yet, neither does our Michael's. :(

Well, in just two more days, my local grocery store is going to be displaying the pumpkins. That's when my excitement level starts to elevate.

I know of four Spirits that will be opening in my town. From what I have observed and read, they open their stores in areas where they get tons of traffic. A few years ago, they sent out emails to people on their mailing list asking for suggestions on store locations. If your location was selected, they sent you a 25% off coupon. The Spirits in my area are usually in the same place year after year and they stay crazy busy from the day they open until the day they close.

Oh and here you go, Castle:

Address
SOUTH PARK MALL

Thanks to the price of gas I plan on foregoing my yearly trek to find Halloween stores so I just went to the Spirit website and looked them up. We're gonna have 13 of them this year with the closest one just down the street. 13. Nice round number.

I can't wait for the Halloween World South to open. They always have new and different items every year. Plus they're a mom & pop store which I would much rather support than some mega-chain.

I don't know what's going on but I just went on both spirit and halloween express and neither of them have stores in the usual spots as of yet :( However I have seen a few stores pop up. Also I want to mention I don't know if any of you have Fortuneoff Backyard stores near you but last year they went all out for Halloween. I asked my store when they were going to do it this year and he said not all of them were. My store apparently didn't make the cut. There is one about 30 mins away that he said will have it. There stuff was good enough that I'll make the drive. They had some good and unique stuff I had never seen at any of the usual halloween chains.

One of the great things to buy during fall/halloween are Yankee Candles with those special scents to them.
