I actually browsed the local Spirit Halloween store last night. They were set up in a huge tent in a parking lot. The first time I have seen them do that here. I didn't buy anything there because I can't afford what I would want to buy. I don't have the room for it either.

I've never seen Spirit Halloween set up like that, either.

Never seen a Spirit Store in a tent but Halloween Express always does it. I have a Halloween City opening up down the street from me. Never seen one of those on the west coast before.
I stopped at both the Walmart and Target by my house last night to check out their wares. The both had more rows of stuff for that December holiday than Halloween stuff. I turned right around and stormed back out. Don't need to do business with a store that usurps my favorite holiday.

My nearest Spirit Store has been using a store that was an office supply place of some type. The space has been empty for 4 years now and around the first or second week in September, Spirit moves in.
My Target doesn't seem to have as much in Halloween decorations as last year, but they have enough candy to sink a battleship.
The Michael's near me has their Christmas stuff up already too. Pathetic.

I could understand Michael's putting that stuff out early because people need time to gather supplies so they can finish their crafts in time for that holiday. These other stores are just trying to do a money grab.
Edit: Oh yeah, I just went and checked out the Halloween City. They seem to be more costumes than decor. I don't remember if the ones back east were set up like that.

I think Halloween City does focus more on the costumes. They are owned by Party City so that kinda makes sense.

I went to an Autumn festival at an historic estate in Woodside, California called Filoli.
It's been open to the public since the last owner granted it to the state in 1975.
The history is fascinating, look it up.
The gift shop has a sensory-overloading Halloween display that greets you at the front door.
I couldn't afford a single piece, being that it's in a neighborhood where Steve Wozniac and the dude that founded Franklin Templeton live just over yonder.

OMG! Nice to be able to hob-nob with the rich & famous for an afternoon, though.
Very beautiful Halloween display in their store!

Those do look pretty awesome! *sigh* If only we all had as much money as we wanted to buy all the stuff we wanted.
But then again, people who can't afford stuff are often the most creative, because they make their own.
