I go to Newsvine when I'm feeling combative.

... eh... Spooky... I live in Southern Arizona, which happens to be the political epicenter of the United States (aside from Washington DC) right now. I'm fairly certain I understand the difficulty...

Politics really should be discussed in political forums, but if it has to leak out in a Halloween forum I hope it leaks into its own thread in the Off Topic section. :D

I remember the early 90's when I was in Jr high (what some of you may call "middle school" ) I remember HATING that sewing class-- because I already knew how to sew-- and that blasted cooking class (because I knew how to cook too)... I took home ec classes for wood shop and drafting. I still have the lamp I made too!

Too bad you weren't in my home ec class Mac, I got in a "discussion" with the teacher because I wanted a rectangular pillow and I didn't want to do any applique stuff on it. But part of the grade was learning to iron junk on something you like to make it yucky.
I guess the general idea is to try to get kids to understand that do-it-yourself projects aren't always as difficult as you think, and to try to inspire a bit of creativity in 'em. All the really best stuff is homemade, not bought. Of course, nowadays those classes have probably been replaced by Wii Sewing or Wii Cooking or Wii Lamp-Making.... :?

Hey now... "Name That Senator" is the non-confrontational side of politics! It's like the beloved childhood card game "Memory", only with a bunch of stodgy old geezers instead of cartoon pictures of kitties and boats and apples....

I'm with you on this one...politics is ugly and not much fun to debate about anyway. Better left to political sites and news columns. This is a Halloween site...better to talk about Horror movies, Serial Killers, Ghosts, Goblins, Vampires, Werewolves and Monsters....and other light hearted material :)
